OPENING THE LODGE It will be necessary to "start up" most of the utilities that have been idle. Specific instructions are located beside or attached to each individual appliance. The following is a check list necessary to "start up" the facilities: 1. Propane space heaters -- Turn both on using the thermostats on the wall - one beside the fireplace and the other in the lower dining room. 2. Main furnace -- Set the wall thermostat located in the bathroom hallway for 65º - 70º F. 3. Water pump -- Switch to "on" with the red switch box located in the lower kitchen hot water heater closet. 4. Hot water heater - New hot water heater is in the lower kitchen closet. It is a tankless, on demand, propane powered unit that does NOT require any shutdown or start-up other than turning on the water pump as noted above. Please do not change any settings or adjust it in any way. Heater comes on to heat the water, when a hot water faucet is opened. 5. Baseboard heaters --Turn on the electric in the upper dining room and in the bedroom(s). Use as a last resort $$$! 6. Door to lower kitchen - Keep open whenever the building is occupied. The new furnace is the most efficient heat. 7. Fireplace - "three log" fires only. Open the ventilators and the flue handle (pull toward you) and close the fireplace screen. CLOSE THE GLASS DOORS AT NIGHT. BE SURE TO PUT ALL ASHES IN ASH CAN BY WOOD SHED. CAUTION: ASHES CAN REMAIN HOT FOR HOURS AND BURN THROUGH COMBUSTIBLES EVEN IN METAL CONTAINERS.
